DS License Server licensing

The DS License Server is a software tool developed by Dassault Systèmes to manage and distribute licenses for their products, such as SIMULIA, CATIA, DELMIA, and ENOVIA. It acts as a central system for license allocation, ensuring that only authorized users can access Dassault Systèmes software.

DSLicTarget Command Overview

The DSLicTarget command is a tool used to retrieve the Computer ID required for licensing Dassault Systèmes software. It offers several options to display and manage the Computer ID.

Command Options and Descriptions/h2>

1 Display the Computer ID (-t)

The Computer ID is generated based on the hardware environment.
– Format for Physical Machines:
3 characters + 1 dash + 16 characters (e.g., ABC-1234567890ABCDEF).
– Format for Virtual Machines (VMs):
3 characters + 1 dash + 42 characters (e.g., ABC-1234567890ABCDEF1234567890ABCDEF1234567890).

Example Command:
> DSLicTarget.exe -t
DSLicTarget (version 1.16)
Computer Id: TIY-001AF10B481636DA575F86C8E3E9FAED07F4B5C018
(based on: TPMVersion: 2.0 – Level:0 – Revision:1.15 – VendorID:’MSFT’ – Firmware:538247443.1394722)

Note: This command must be run with administrative privileges in an elevated command prompt.

2 List Available Network Adapters (-l)

Displays all available network adapters on the machine.
Can be used to select a specific adapter for generating the Computer ID.

3 Clear Reference Data (-c)

Clears stored reference data for the current Computer ID, such as the Windows Registry key or Linux file.
Note: Requires administrative privileges.

4 Generate Computer ID Using a Specific Device (-s {…})

Allows you to use a specific network adapter or device identifier (retrieved using the -l option) to generate the Computer ID.

Example Command:
DSLicTarget -s {558CBA02-9E12-33F7-49A9-1154BED416A6}

Note: This command also requires administrative privileges.

5 Display Help (-h)

Displays a help menu with information on available options and usage.

Important Notes
Admin Privileges Required: Most commands, especially those that generate or clear Computer IDs, must be run in an elevated command prompt.
Computer ID Use: The Computer ID is critical for licensing and is specific to the hardware environment (physical or virtual).
